PartyParty

A macOS party server that broadcasts any Mac audio to guests' phones. They scan a QR code and listen through their own headphones, with no guest app or account and an offline mode for shared Wi-Fi.

PartyParty turns one Mac into a live audio system for a room. The host plays music or DJs as usual. Guests scan a QR code, open the session in Safari, and listen through their own iPhones and headphones without installing an app or creating an account.

The product handles the full path from captured Mac audio to native playback on a locked iPhone. It can stream directly over shared Wi-Fi, run at a venue without internet access, or use a music-first relay when the local network cannot connect guests reliably. The host app manages the session, connectivity, certificates, distribution, and a party track list while keeping guest interaction deliberately simple.

My contribution

I conceived and built PartyParty end to end: product strategy, interaction and visual design, the native macOS application, Go streaming and relay architecture, guest web experience, Cloudflare infrastructure, testing, distribution, and ongoing operations. Shipping it required field testing the complete Apple playback path, not only proving that audio could move between two development machines.

AI-native workflow

AI agents contributed across product definition, research, UX, implementation, test design, review, and documentation. I set the product and architecture decisions, validated behavior on real Macs, iPhones, AirPods, and venue networks, and owned every release boundary.

PartyParty is available through a public TestFlight beta. Guests need only a modern phone browser; the host installs the macOS app.
